Looks like the "gentle prod" on the facebook event page had the desired effect
I think we'll end up with a platoon minus size squad on each side which will be good. The site could certainly take more but I'll tailor the briefing and objectives to keep things fluid and interesting

Will book on for this, after this weekend.....when the dust has settled!
Andy

lord elpus - you have a pm sir but long story short if you want a lift I'm sure I can accommodate...

My work rotas are looking absolutely crap this week but on the off chance I can get it off are vehicles allowed in game?

It would be quite limiting for vehicles in game Stu but what are you thinking - wouldn't turn down a Tiger or Sherman ![]()

Right-y-ho, we have some "brilliant" news, couple of bits of "great news" and one bit of "bad news".
First the brilliant news : thanks to Tony we are able to offer a FREE 24hr Rat-Pack to the first 10 players on each side that get booked on (so yes that is 20 in total) - use them on the weekend or keep them for a modern event - your choice.
The good news is: (1) looks like we will have 3 possibly 4 working mortars so at least 2 per side plus whatever folk are bringing. (2) Bomb-Up Airsoft have said they'll bring a small mobile shop to the safe zone for pyro's/BBs etc. (3) We will take a £20 deposit if that helps folk to get booked on and then £20 on the day.
Okay now the bad news: we are a bit over a month away and the booked on numbers are - well - piss poor! With 51 members on here and others saying they are bringing 3-4 mates we should be seeing 10-15 per side. I know payday end of the month is on us over next week so lets see if we can turn this around as if it's not - sorry lads it will be Goodnight Vienna on next weekend.
I can only lead a horse to water - the rest is down to you.
Use it or loose it folks

Just paid up for this, 24 hr is going to be a slog for me, I will have to pace myself on this one.
Usually a 1 day kicks the hell out of me, and then suffer some for a few days......but we'll see how we go, just go a new M1 Garand, so I have to give it a go!

Looking at the numbers Andy I don't think this will be the major force-on-force battle I'd planned for BUT I still have a number of very decent scenarios planned for lower numbers based on reality that can be used rather than 24hrs of capture the flag!!

Looking at the numbers -this aint gonna happen!
I am amazed I thought there was now a good ww2 crowd in the UK, this looked like an amazing chance to have an all nighter , great looking site and good organisation. And only two allies and six axis have booked on!!!!
Have I missed something? Can any one help explain why such a poor response to this event?
Paul

Simply too much on for me in July.

well a good number will be coming to the game that's a week after , it's not easy for folks to do 2 weeks in a row , well it's not for me lol

I can do one game a month tops, and I'm already booked for June and July.
Shame, as I like Piddington, good site (despite the risk of tripping over unexploded ordanance:)

I have to agree with Chris. I cannot do two games in a row due to family commitments. Sorry. I would have lovef to come. Always wanted to do a 24h game.

I agree with everyone above. I'd love to book but I'm already booked on to the Pacific game, the wife only let's me out for one game a month
Maybe rearrange for later in the year where there aren't so many games?
Regards,
Ralph

hi i am looking to book on this also ,i do have to work away from home the week after, but i can just fit it in.
Do people intend to have period cover for the night time,as i have no provision for this, especialy if the weather is shite?
i will be axis forces though.

Ok I have just read that there is a building to sleep in if needed.

We've had a number of bookings start to come in so we will be going ahead - it's not a money making game so we'd have gone with low numbers anyway and had planned for a different scenario if numbers remained low. I think there will be 12-15 per side if people confirm - not massive but a tinkering with the objectives will still see a good match for all.
I understand everyone's comments about the number of events and thank you for taking the time to express support for the event concept even if you can't make it.
We will see how this goes - we have other ideas for 24hr themed games including a Monte Casino idea that may be put in the Autumn - I'll keep you all updated.

The quicker you can get a game date up, the more likely it will be successful
